405 – Chapter Five: The Nina Project

Ha! You thought Nina was a person? We totally didn’t. Nope, haha, we always knew. Speaking of never being confused, we’ve got some theories and predictions that we’re holding tight to. We’re witnessing the point of no return and an escape that could only happen in the 80s, nothing to do with Kurt Russell in New York though. And how many modems can you recognize just by the sound? I guarantee it’s more than me, but less than Jim and A.Ron.

404 – Chapter Four: Dear Billy

The Vecna isn’t the only horrifying thing that you see this season. Shedding the skin of the fun, breezy Stranger Things that we started with a few years ago, this season is going down darker roads. We have to sit with these characters through more adult situations as they try to navigate these with kid solutions. And it is starting to seem that Hopper is likely evolving into a Steven McQueen-esque superhero. Maybe.

403 – Chapter Three: The Monster and the Superhero

Those icy blue eyes of the Vecna have us transfixed when the episode isn’t being a little clunky. The relationships in this show deliver in the teenage angst department. Jim can’t relate to the angst because he’s always been popular. But the real question to the duality of existence, can someone be both a monster…

402 – Chapter Two: Vecna’s Curse

Someone take care of these kids! Eleven/Jane is being bullied and Will, easily the most traumatized child in Hawkins, is hurting and wants his friends back. We hope life is kind to this cinnamon roll of a person, but this is Hawkins. A.Ron is putting on Dustin’s thinking cap and has some theories to present. How is everyone with guilt or dark secrets going to be affected by Vecna? We’re dying to find out.

401 – Chapter One: The Hellfire Club

Stranger Things is back with a moodier season and we’re here for it. Hawkins, Indiana is haunted and harassed once more by…STRANGE things (I couldn’t help myself). The kids are growing up and growing apart while finding their place in the world. And who is this monster for this season? Mind Flayer 2.0, some sort of Soul Reaper, someone who spent way too much time in the sun? We’re ready to find out.

308 – Chapter Eight: The Battle of Starcourt

We finish Netflix’s Stranger Things 3 with the finale episode, “The Battle of Starcourt”. We found it gross, hilarious, thrilling, and touching, which means we thought it was a pretty great ending to a pretty great season of Stranger Things. I can see how people who are kind of sick of the nostalgia pandering, the product placement, and skeptical of some of the more outlandish breaks in the action to allow for drama, but we loved every minute of it.

307 – Chapter Seven: The Bite

We resume our mini-marathon of Netflix’s Stranger Things 3 with the penultimate episode, “The Bite”. In which many people are forced to confront their true feelings for other characters, with mixed results. The Mind Flayer is running roughshod over the backwoods of Hawkins, while the thus un-merged Billy stalks down El to eliminate her as threat. The big question in our minds is whether the Duffer Brothers took the long off season to come up with a new way to resolve inter-dimensional threats, or are we in for another screaming session from El? Let’s find out together!

306 – Chapter Six: E Pluribus Unum

The Mind Flayer’s grotesque plan comes into focus in episode six of Stranger Things 3, “E Pluribus Unum”, the meaning of the title seeming obvious in retrospect. Aside from the citizenry of Hawkins literally pulling themselves together to stop El and the gang, we get some very sympathetic backstory for Billy, Dustin throws a tea party for Erica, Robin and Steve share a moment in a Soviet medical torture facility, and Mike confesses his love for El.
