613 – The Same Boat

It’s fair to say that neither Jim nor A.Ron was under or overwhelmed by this episode, number 613, “The Same Boat”. Thus properly whelmed, we discuss the themes of the episode, including Carol’s sudden (?) change of heart with regards to her ruthlessness and apparent callous disregard for life, Maggie’s maternal nature, how we feel about the Saviors now that we’ve seen a slightly softer side, and Carol and Maggie’s innovating combination of slaughterhouse and barbecue. 610 – The Next World

Jim and A.Ron are relieved to find that they can still enjoy a legitimately good episode of The Walking Dead. This one had it all, tight writing, characters with rich back stories and interconnected personal history interacting in believable and relate-able ways, humor, family, competent and professional directing, the works. Not to mention a development we’ve been anticipating for about 3 years now. Yes, it was the elusive feel good episode of The Walking Dead, and we frankly gush about it.
