Jim and A.Ron, intrigued by AMC’s upcoming “Into the Badlands” and ongoing “Kung Fu Fridays”, decided to do a little something to get into the spirit. So we queued up the Jackie Chan classic, “Drunken Master 2”, aka “The Legend of Drunken Master”, and recorded ourselves watching it. Is that interesting or entertaining? Much thanks to Nick Knol for commissioning the 2000 Christopher McQuarrie film, “The Way of the Gun”, starring Ryan Phillippe, Benicio del Toro, and Juliette Lewis. As dark, gritty, violent, funny, post-Tarantino quasi-western fable, we found a lot to enjoy, but wondered if the plot was too convoluted for it’s own good. In this we discuss questionable obstetrics, geriatric hitmen, and our inner outlaws.
