The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)

Martin Scorsese’s wild Wall St. ride shares a lot of the energy of his classic gangster film, Goodfellas. In our podcast review, we discuss those similarities, as well as the love/hate relationship we have with a film that might be too much fun for its own good.

Fruitvale Station (2013)

This week we take a look at Ryan Coogler’s first feature film, Fruitvale Station, about the 2009 murder of Oscar Grant. Once again James Wan helms another scary story starring Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne, with a bigger budget, a clever plot that builds on everything from the first installment, to deliver arguably a more frightening experience with even more emotional heart.
