705 – Holes

A.Ron and Cecily have seen the latest episode of FX’s American Horror Story, “Holes”, and aren’t sure if they’re talking about trypophobia or the plot.  Good gravy we’re confused about when and how Meadow died exactly, when Ivy and Alley’s relationship dove into the crapper, and how steam rooms work in the real world.  Also; we explain gaslighting in a one act play.  Also, also; feedback!  See you next week!

705 – Eastwatch

Jim and A.Ron try to talk about an incredibly entertaining episode of HBO’s Game of Thrones, “Eastwatch”, while also dealing the the fact that the main thrust of the plot is dubious at best.  And we’re not talking about jetpacks or wonky numbers of ships and wagons, we’re talking about the main mission North of the Wall.  Why does anyone think this is a good idea?  On the other hand, we’ve come around on the Arya and Sansa intrigue, and there is a whole lot else to like… Gendry and Jon reprising Robert and Ned’s adventures. Davos showing off his sweet smuggling skills.  Drogon doing what Drogon does best, looking majestic AF and generally being jaw dropping in every scene he’s in, including the one where he gets his snout snuggled.  That’s impressive range for a fake dragon, ya’ll. All this, plus we got more emails than Davos has bad crab meat, and we’re back Friday to do it all over again, SpoiLORE style.  See you then!

705 – Eastwatch – Instant Take

Jim and A.Ron have seen the very latest episode of HBO’s Game of Thrones, “Eastwatch”.  There was some awesome stuff no doubt, a very special someone picks up a hammer, two brothers reunite, Ser Davos out-Han Solos Han Solo, and Sansa and Arya bicker like season one.  But the creaks and cracks of the Double D’s kicking the plot into hyperdrive are starting to be heard and felt.  Hopefully it’s just a minor case of dragon indigestion, and not a sign of more serious tears and holes in the realistic, grounded, dragon and zombie infested world they’ve so carefully constructed.

705 – Go Getters

Carl and Enid rolling down the street! S-K-A-T-I-N-G! Sure, we all loved Richonne, but step aside, there’s a new hot apocalyptic romance in Alexandria: Carnid. Or Earl? Whatever, it was cute, and fun, and gives Carl a new angle to work besides the increasingly silly hair and hat routine. What else? Oh, Maggie is a boss, of course, tractors are employed in unusual circumstances, Gregory is literally The Worst, Michonne struggles to adapt to a post-Negan world, and the biggest surprise of them all; The Walking Dead writer’s staff deftly juggling no less than three separate plots in a single episode! All of this and more are discussed, including emails from your fellow fans.

This week A.Ron and Cecily discuss HBO’s True Blood episode 705, “Lost Cause”. We discuss Evil Bill’s party ettiquette, Lettie Mae acting the damn fool, the blinding righteousness of Lafayette putting Red Bone in her place, and Arlene protecting her virtue from her vampire savior the only way a human can; by making tinkle.
