513 – “To’Hajiilee” – Jim’s Instant Take Review

The tables are turned this week and the mighty Heisenberg is finally captured… at least for a few seconds. Though not quite as twisty as last week’s timeline-slight-of-hand episode, I really appreciated the way the plot unfolded in To’Hajiilee.  Hank has a history of taking pictures of crime scenes on his shitty 90’s flip phone…

513 – “To’hajiilee” – A.Ron’s “Instant Take” Review

In the final analysis, Walt’s empire business has crumbled all because Huell, card carrying member of Saul’s “A-Team”, hasn’t heard Bald Move’s standing Public Service Announcement, “Don’t Ever Talk to Caps, Man, For Real.”  Walt tried to do Los Pollos Hermanos on the cheap, and from the start Vamanos Pest Control has plagued by problems…

513 – To’hajiilee – Instant Take

While quite a few people got some of the broad strokes right, again, Vince Gilligan and crew made sure that we were all left guessing and trying to puzzle out where we were going until The End… and what an end it was. Jim and A.Ron struggle to put their thoughts into words as we deliver a instant take where we try to make sense of how we got here, what we thought of it, and where we’re left. Join us for our full coverage Tuesday night!

512 – Rabid Dog

This episode, 512 entitle “Rabid Dog” turned out to be a bit of a breather, especially compared with the previous 3 of this final season. Not a bad thing, or our hearts would explode before the end. Still lots and lots to talk about, including hitting Walt where he “really” lives, the sour turn Skyler, Marie, and Hank seemed to take this week, the continued heart break of poor Walt Jr, Aaron Paul and Dean Norris’s continued excellence, Babylon 5, Walt’s room clearing ability, and much more. All this, your awesome feedback and analysis, as well as a bit of spoiler discussion after the protective wall of music! Hope you enjoy!

512 – “Rabid Dog” – A.Ron’s “Instant Take” Review

Can Breaking Bad do an entire 8 episode final season with the pedal to the metal and end each one on a massive cliffhanger?  Well, yes and no.  Yes, they keep their cliffhanger streak alive with a shadow phone call to Team Panzer Grey, but this episode, while taught, well acted, and fascinating in it’s…

512 – “Rabid Dog” – Jim’s Instant Take Review

The trouble with setting up a season with the pace and skill that the final season of Breaking Bad  has been set with is that you can’t let off the throttle without taking some criticism.  That’s how I felt about 512 Rabid Dog.

512 – Rabid Dog – Instant Take

A.Ron and I rushed off to the mics again to talk about episode 512, “Rabid Dog”. We ask the hard questions such as: Has Skyler broken bad? Has Hank broken bad? Is there any freakin’ one on this show who HASN’T broken bad? Also, what would Huel do with Walt’s money?

511 – “Confessions” – A.Ron’s “Instant Take” Review

As I said on the instant take podcast, one of my pet peeves is when sportscasters immediately declare that something they just saw was the greatest “game”, “performance”, “comeback”, “catch” etc. in the history of the sport!  As humans, we tend to overvalue new experiences and discount older ones.  Our memories play tricks on us,…

511 – Confessions – Instant Take

Did we just watch one of the best hours of television, or The Best Ever? Jim and A.Ron debate that point as they struggle to process the absolutely incredible hour of television that was Breaking Bad episode 511, “Confessions”. All the pieces were there the whole time, hidden in plain sight. But no one saw Walt’s “confession” and the impact it would have. No one forsaw the consequences of a single boosted bag of weed. And what else is lurking out there, in two flash forwards and an enigmatic scene between Meth Damon and his Uncles of Anarchy? I sure as hell don’t know, but can’t wait to find out!
