Episode Five

S03E05 – Seven Minutes of Terror

This episode gave us good scenes in bad storylines. After the space burial reminiscent of 2001: A Space Odyssey aesthetics, this interplanetary epic takes us through some emotion laden scenes. Danny is doing dumb stuff, Margo is doing dangerous stuff, and Sergei looks like the stuffing has been beat out of him. What does Aleida’s future look like if Margo’s secrets come to light? And are there cosmonaut defectors in the future?

Ha! You thought Nina was a person? We totally didn’t. Nope, haha, we always knew. S02E06 – Two of One

Okay, okay, the liquid in the vial is blue! A.Ron concedes. And acknowledges he might be colorblind.
Do you want to emit EMPs from your cells and then put on a cover concert of 20th century rock and roll? Yes? Well, then you may want to look into getting borg-ified like Agnes Jurati. Join Jim and A.Ron as they tackle an episode that ranges from impromptu concerts to the aftermath of domestic abuse, a topic very personal to Patrick Stewart’s own childhood.

Chernobyl – Episode 5 – Vichnaya Pamyat

The final episode of HBO’s Chernobyl, “Vichnaya Pamyat” derives it’s title from the traditional prayer said at the end of an Eastern Orthadox funeral; “memory eternal”. Our hope is that everyone who has watched this and will watch this in the years to come takes to heart this encomium, that we need to remember the cost of lies, the cost of taking our eye off our institutions and systems we setup to keep us safe and prosperous, because if you fail to do so the cost only becomes more dear. Thanks for watching along with us, we’ve loved having you all along for the experience.

The Young Pope – Episodes 5 & 6

When we began this podcast, we expected to have a lot of fun laughing at the crazy outfits and Jude Law strutting around chewing scenery left and right. And we were right about that, that is pretty funny and a delight to look at. But these last few episodes have revealed a show with much more substance than we were initially led to believe with the premise. What sort of revolution is the Young Pope wanting to lead? Can the Pope continue to cow heretics and Prime Ministers alike with threats of no win situations and divine retribution? Is Jude Law’s butt proof of the existence of God?
