A fun episode, which attempts to even out the odds between Michael’s malevolence and Cordelia’s rag-tag and mostly resurrected group of Goode witches and warlocks. There’s also a bit of talk about Mallory being the new Supreme, but we figured that out 2 weeks ago. It was nice seeing Nan raising hell with Papa Legba, too. But mostly it’s just fun watching Joan Collins and Cheyenne Jackson vamp and scarf throw their way through this breezy episode of AHS. Don’t forget we come back in two days for Feedback Friday! A.Ron and Cecily have a lot of fun with American Horror Story’s “Return to Murder House”. It’s a lot of demonic exposition, but it’s nice to see the work load spread among the Harmon family and Constance Langdon. We get the devilish details of Michael growing up, from murderous toddler to rapid-grown Son of Satan, and a lot of those deets are truly disturbing and diabolical. This episode has some solid horror and creepy visuals and themes, smartly builds upon the show’s existing Witch lore, we continue to be amused by the oppressed Warlocks, and we get more Lily Rabe and more STEVIE NICKS! We love Stevie Nicks. But we also ask, what exactly is she doing here? Like, in universe, Stevie Nicks is a witch. Who’s only power seems to be enrapturing Lily Rabe. Perhaps that’s enough. Full of wonders, such as gay Harry Potter fan fiction, Emma Roberts in hell, the return of hotelier James March, and a ruthless system of matriarchal oppression where men can never be Supreme! But never fear, gentlemen, because Michael Langdon is here in Satan’s service to finally free us men from female hegemony. Nema! This episode is crazy and a lot of fun. Still not getting much in the scare department, but if we can’t get that, at least give us more of this uncloseted All-American Hogwarts!
